when i heard a subwoofer for the first time in a car i was hooked. went out and bought a sub and amp the first day i had my car.

I would have to say a couple friends that just had a simple, single 10" or single 12" setup that sounded great...not too loud though. I just wanted to add some bass at first...then the BTL and the XXX10k came along and dual alts came along and loudness came, finally...

my brother had 4 12" jl audio in a bandpass enclosure with a plexi front on it with the neons that pulsate to the bass and 2 old skool coustic 460 amps and a alpine pull out tape deck. he was hitting 145's back in the day with that setup. (1995-1996)

Had a cousin with 4 12" orions with an orion 600 watt xtr or sx amp from back in the day walled in a ranger extended cab. loud as hell too..

had another cousin with 4 15" in an old skool 4 door cutlass in a clamshell enclosure sitting in the back seat.

pretty much been around bass my whole life..

Listening to the garbage truck picking up the trash on Saturday mornings got me into bass when I was like 5 or so. I used to wake up early just so I could sit in the corner of my room and hear it rumble. They put out some nice low frequency material around 30hz and I was hooked ever since.

i use to hate ppl who had their music up loud and rattling stuff. but then i got my license. and i drove around town with windows down. and i felt like my music was missing something. my computer speakers with sub sounded better than my car. so i got 2 kenwoods. not many people here have anything. so i tried it, and ****. it blew me away.

this guy had one 12" P1 and thought he was so badass. The lack of bass in my car lead me to 2 subwoofers. and now im happy.

My friend had a couple MTX 12" 8000s and then a Memphis PR 15". After hearing those two different systems, I was hooked. Then after riding with him after he got his new Hypnotic 15" sub, I HAD to have bass in my car.
