i have a RF p3001 and two Audiobahn Awc12t. i Have 12ga wire hooked up to the subs now but donest sound very good. IM using 4 ga to my distribution block and then 8ga from there. Im usin 8ga for my ground as well. What can i do to get my subs hittin harder? Btw when i turn up my frequency almost all of the way up my susb start hitting even when my HU (Pioneer 7600) is paused or volume is on 0. Any suggestions on what to do or what kind of wirse to use? Also i ahve a Jensen amp 350 watts and when i hook up my audiobahn 6x9s up to it everyhting sounds distorted, its kinda hard to explain but sounds alot worse than my new 4 in Rfs in the deck. if you can help with any of this i would greatly appreciate it .

Did you upgrade your battery to chassis ground?

That 8 gauge wire you are using for ground sends the electrical current through the cars chassis and up to the batterys negative terminal through a little 10 gauge wire, failing to upgrade this wire can limit your amps performance.

I'll try harder..

- try a ported box, play with the Xover settings, upgrade the battery ground I mentioned earlier.

- If the subs are moving when there is no music playing and the volume is turned to max it is because the gain is turned too high on your amp usually (weird shit happens when you have your gain cranked way up).

- Jensen amps have shitty SQ at higher frequencys especially if you turn your gains way too high, back the gain off, turn on the high pass filter to get rid of the low frequencys.

Didnt even read, if you are running a short run, use 16awg, or even 14awg, 12awg is fine, but it doesnt matter. 12awg isnt needed.
