so I'm really tired of my 12v drill and its time for an upgrade. wondering what drill you guys have and use? not sure what kind i should get, impact driver? hammer drill etc etc... i see a lot of people use dewalt and makita. i like the led the makita has any other recommendations you guys have? don't need anything industrial but a nice well rounded one for car audio and around the house

want cordless

I have a cordless Makita that's 7 years older than me. I use it for putting screws in MDF or drilling things that require precision.

I also have the largest commercially available Dewalt corded drill. I use that for drilling large holes in metal.

Can't go wrong with Dewalt or Makita, imo!

Using a dewalt 20v now have the drill and impact use it all day every day for work and then at home too. I got the 3ah batterys and they last forever lol. I have had them all for work and you cant go wrong with Dewalt, Makita,Rigid, and Milwalkee is pretty sweet too. My pops has a craftsman too and has had it forever and its decent too just kinda big but new stuff is probably a lot smaller.

I prefer bosch with a half inch chuck.

Picked up a new makita the other day and didn't like it, the milwaukee next to it felt solid but pricey.

Dewalt's have always been good.

My new go to is a 12v bosch, because 90% of the stuff I drill is quarter inch or less.

I have Milwaukee and Hitachi. Hitachi is actually a great drill and is fairly cheap. Milwaukee is nice too. I have the mini 12v drill and impact. They are good for everyday use and for not fatiguing when driving a lot of screws in mdf

Do you have to ask for the batteries at home depot? Because they have them out but non have batteries so you can test them. Sears also. Or do i just live in the ghetto and they dont trust us? Lol

My favorite cordless is Bosch. I have a regular drill and a impact drill from them that are great. That being said, I have a Craftsman cordless drill that I got for Christmas about three years ago that I have used and abused and it's still going strong.
