What do you use to seal.

Ok, I need to know what you guys suggest for sealing a box. On my last one I used a hot glue gun and I think it worked alright. Could I do this again or should I use something else? Will regular silicone work? or what about liquid nails.

Also, Any ideas on what to use to seal where the sub meets the box. Would felt work?

eh, Liquid Nails is pretty useless for building boxes IMO.

Just use wood glue for assembly then go in and use some silicone caulk ( I buy the cheapest stuff) to seal it up...

Caulk. Lots and lots of caulk. Those boxes dont sound right if you dont put your caulk in em. Right Moe?

1 gallon of Tite bond is far cheaper than a bunch of tubes of LN...I also find it irritating re-using a tube of LN...

yeah i havent had any probs with my liquid nails especially as caulk

Use wood glue instead of liquid nails because it is forms a chemical bond rather than a surface bond like liquid nails does. Thats what I use then caulk all the seams with silicone and its airtight.

i use wood glue for the buildin process... then i throw on liquid nails on the inside of all the seams.... it only cost me 1.92 for a tue of liquid nails where i live, plus with my emplyee discount at ace... but i think that using Liquid nails for holdin the box together is pointless becuz like btnhfan said above, it only forms a surface bond to the materials its touching... so its pointless having a bond on the surface when the glue acts as wood itself...
