No. It doesn't.

Sound quality is a fixed entity. Is the sound being reproduced the way it was originally recorded? That is sound quality. It takes no subjective information to quantify. If the reproduction is not true to the original recording, then it does not have sound quality irregardless of personal preference. If it is being reproduced true to the original recording, then it has sound quality, again, irregardless of personal preference.

What you prefer will vary person to person. Sound quality does not change, however.

w7 is a good speaker, yet the price is a partially due to the fct JL spends so much money on advertising instead of 100% quality for the money. If you go to the average joe and ask them about car audio you will always have more people that have heard of JL and not nearly as many that have heard of Adire Audio, RE, Sound Splinters, Adescent, Zapco, McIntosh, etc... with JL you money is partially just haveing the name....im NOT saying JL isnt quality but for the price there are subs that will sound just as clean yet have far more output ::cough:: xxx:::cough::

I got a 12w7 and Im very happy with it. I didnt pay anywhere near msrp though. I got it from a local dealer for $380 but then again I always buy stuff from him so he gives me good prices.
