Thank you for validating my point StreetBeater. I'm sure others can chime in as well about running 1500w off of stock alt. And BassX19, I don't need your respect, nor want it. Your some new KID who comes on here, not knowing what you are talking about, yet still giving advice. STFU and GTFO, Steve Meade forum would be a great place for yourself.

1 12" CVX in a 3cube box tuned to 33hz, 1200.1 Kicker Amp, 1/0g wiring

Lets see ONE Cvx 12 inch is about 750 watts rms, last time i checked, that won't cause dimming lights . Get a Real sub and then come back.

Also, Mikey=448 posts, and your saying im new? Your no more than a noob to this forum than me.

448 posts don't mean anything. I do have a life, and don't lurk this forum all day, everyday. I've been here almost a year, and learned tons. Never opened my mouth til I understood what I was talking about, unlike you. Which again is proved in your post, because 750w can easily make lights dim on a 70-80a alternator. Please, start to learn and read, as well as do your homework buddy. I run a 12" DC LVL 4 on a Sundown 1200D, not a CVX and 1200.1 That was quite a few months ago. Reading a signature would help you out tons. So please, as I stated before, check out SMD. Sure would be the place for you =].

El OH el at you. I'm sure there are quite a few people who can chime in on running 1500w WITHOUT a H/O alternator. Your retarded kid.
yup, altho I was a bit of a n00b at the time and know better now

I had the mb quart 2000.1d wired to .5 ohms pushing 2 15' lvl 4's at about 3k daily for a month or two, never had any problems, the alt is still in great shape.....

and this was on a stock toyota 70a alt......hahaha

op upgrading the big three should be your FIRST step....

TY. Like i said, B3 will be taken care of when the Knu arrives. And this is what my observations have been. I figure I will have to get a second battery but its needed before the amp. Thanks Mikey. I know i dont need it. It was which one i needed FIRST. BassX19, thanks for your recommendations as well. While your comments in my post havn't been the most intriguing, i assumed nothing different coming to a new forum.

I mean, definitely get a second battery, and update the redtop. I was saying you COULD get by, but it wouldn't be the best idea. Better off to do it right the first time, just so you don't fry anything, and have to start all over again.

And i apologize by insulting you, I just feel an H/O Alt is necessary. But whatever.

So there are votes across the board, but the general consensus seems to be that i can get by without doing anything. At the minimum I should probably get a battery, and If i have the opportunity, I should get a HO amp and bat.

IMO this order; Big Three, front battery, (should already have 1/0 to the rear), secondary battery, H/O alternator (if needed is the way i feel about it), Ive seen 2200 watts 1800 watts and 1200 watts with no high output slam all day long. I think the H/O comes into play with the domain of the beasts (bigger amps, and or many batteries) =D
