My opinion on used amps: MTX 1501D, or the JBL GTO 1201. II. You can find them used for about $300 shipped most of the time.

New amps? TMA T500.1 is really the only sub-$300 amp I can think of right now.

an eD nine.1 (blasphemy) will give you 450 at 4ohms. i doubt the extra 100 watts would hurt you. it can be had for $350 brand new, plus shipping.

I recently bought 2 12" perfects and am also looking for an amp. They are the single voice coils so I'm going to be running the amp at 2 ohms. I've been looking at the Phoenix Gold OCTANE-R 8.0:1, Phonix Gold Xenon 600.1, RF 600.1bd, Alpine MRP-M650 or MRD-M605, Infinity Reference 611a... All seem like pretty good options and are ~$200 or less depending on how hard you look. All of them are class D also, I think. Anybody have any opinions about these amps?

I would recommend starting with the Big3 kit.....I prefer the 2/0ga kit but for a couple $s less the 1/0 kit will do just fine...

That is the great thing about Maestro products, they are very thorough. Downside is the price tag.

How I would approach it is install your new amplifier and start using it. Install a voltage gauge and if you see your voltage lowering then add...
