ok its in the "theory stage" but my girl says she will help me get another system between now and next year including tax refunds next year i should afford this.

4 kicker zx2500.1

4 18" Fi BTL fully loaded for daily

and all the stuff for wireing and the box.

talked to dc power he says there 260 amp alt. and a couple d3100's should power all this.

one alt only, but will i need more than the 2 d3100's? i can get more batts but not gettin more than a single alt as i own a cherokee and not tryin to custom fab brackets cause i would lose my ac compressor and ...well....SCREW THAT!

tell me what ya think and if its worth the money and if ill even get close to 165's in a small @$$ cherokee?

and yeah this is my daily driver so ill be blowin ear drum all day every day! i cant afford a second vehicle jus for comps cause i dont do many comps i jus like bein the loudest on the block which right now im prolly one of the loudest in my small town if not the loudest, only system bigger than mine around here is my buddy has 4 reference 15" memphis on a 1000 watt amp so i got more power with 2 zx750.1's but less cone! i sound louder though don know what the meter would say though never tested either system!

or not. someone says hey i need help designin a box for 2 8's on my tricycle and everyone jumps to help someone asks a question to find out what mess there gettin into and noone is around? WOW this is a first

I wouldn't think that a 260 Amp alternator and two 1,200 CCA batteries with a 117 Ah rating would be enough because each one of those 2500.1s has a 300 amp fuse rating. I would be willing to bet that when you crank that volume up, you would more than likely **** two of those batteries dry really fast. For "normal" listening volume and daily driving, it may be enough depending on if you listen to your system at max volume or not.

Let's look at this from another angle. On smaller sound systems, most rely on the alternator to provide power to the system and then **** juice off the battery when the alternator can not provide enough amperage output. In theory, ONE of those Kicker amps can pull more than your alternator can deliver, now multiply that by FOUR and try to see where I am coming from.

I am a naysayer and a skeptic therefore I think that if you are only going with one alternator, you are going to need FOUR batteries, a couple of battery chargers, and a 110 volt AC outlet wherever you go just to keep your batteries charged.

ya...if you have to ask if you're going to be near 165 then u definitely won't even be close.....//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/fyi.gif.9f1f679348da7204ce960cfc74bca8e0.gif

lol, I've got 7 group 31's in my jeep and it still runs down after extended periods of playing.

And fitting four 18's in there is going to be a challenge walled, it's going to have to be some sort of funky clam shell just for you to be able to get the surface area in there, and you still might not have enough space for compliance....which is why I went with two 18's and a flat wall behind the b-pillar.

As far as the alternator, i'd get an adjustable version. The problem is where the alternator is located - there isnt much room to start with between the alternator case and the fender wells/frame. I ended up just going with more batteries and getting a 220 amp alternator from HO Alternators. And honestly, the alternator is more or less just keeping the voltage high when im driving around and sort of half *** charging the batteries. I still put my shit on the charger overnight every couple of days just to keep them charged well so im not taxing the alternator too much. My setup has been this way for about 2 years now, so with no issues.
