What did I do wrong? Nothing plays when faded to front

I installed an amp in my '99 Taurus to power my speakers (no subs). All the speakers produce sound, but nothing comes out of the front door speakers when I manually fade the settings to the front via my cd player (worked prior to amp installation). I played with all settings on both the cd player & amp. I know I should just be happy that it's working, but that's not good enough for me. I'm afraid that all 4 speakers are acting as if they were all to be producing from the rear channel. Meaning, I may be missing sounds that are supposed to be coming from the front channel. Is the fade feature even supposed to cooperate with an amp? Please help me out.

Specs:

Older Kenwood deck (45wX4, 1 Set of RCA Output, will be upgrading in a few weeks!)

Infinity Reference Series 7541A 4-Channel Amp (140wX4)

(2) Pioneer 6 1/2" (220w max, located in front door)

(2) Kenwood KFC-6982ie, 6X9 (500 watt max, rear deck)

4ga. Monster Power Cable, 80A fuse

16ga. Speaker Wire

To the speakers (spliced into factory speaker wiring already located in trunk. triple-checked that splicings were performed on correct colored wire.):

Connection Side (left front, right front, left rear, right rear speaker wire all correctly spliced to factory speaker wiring. again, not the issue):

RCA(s) (Do I need the Y-Splitters? I've tried every possible combination, no luck. which is the correct way?):

its not gonna fade because you have your y splitters set to 1 set of RCA cables which is controlling the signals for both your front and rear..

but then again i only looked at the last pic so i may have missed alot.. kidna gone right now tbh lol

Btw i like your 16 gauge ground wire.

Thanks guys. Yeah, about that ground... ha. It's the only thing I had at the time. Replaced it today with 4ga. I was told I would be fine with that ground wire, take it it's a big no-no?
