What determines the hp of a subwoofer motor?

What determines the horse power of a subwoofer motor when other motors are larger than some really strong motors like tc audio? They have very strong hp motors that are fairly small but are little mostes when it comes to the horse power compared to others ???

You would think that people on here would have more info than this? There is so much arguing about the hp of motors but not a whole lot of info on what or why horse power is such a big deal and also why there are huge motors with smaller hp than other smaller motors and how hp determines How much power or how many watts a speaker can produce? How is all this determined does any one realy know? I'm just asking because there is soooooooooo many different people that have different opinions about this topic ?

Subs dont have/produce horsepower. "3hp" is just the name of the motor

None, a speaker produces no power.

hp is not horse power

hp is a model name from tc sounds it stands for high power

they made a 3hp and a 4hp

the 3hp is a 3" coil and the 4hp is a 4" coil
