what could be causing my amp to do this???

whenever i turn my HU to 20/40 my subs

start to make this popping sound...

i checked my wiring and all that good stuff...

i tried playing my subs one at a time to see

if one was blown or something... it does it

to both woofers...

today i took it to the local car audio shop

to see if they could tell me whether it was

the subs or the amp... as i was watching

the setup make this popping... i caught

the amps protection light light up super

quick each time i would hear the popping...

the shop told me it was probably the subs

but i have an appointment monday morning

for them to properly look into it...

if the amp is going into protection every time

there is a pop wouldnt that be the amp???

what could be causing the amp to do this???

Reset your gains, there's a tutorial for doing that in the Amplifiers section.

If its everytime ur sub is about to hit, it might be a blown sub ur lookin at! just a thought

sounds like a short in the amp... i had the same problem with my old jensen amp.. apparently some dust and moisture got into the amp and shorted out some major electrical components.. it turned on, but quickly popped and shut off repeatedly... sounds like a bad amp to me
