What cha think??

not really that hard, just cut the 2 outside peices and the bottom and front baffle, then fiberglass the top part

Yea....that's the easy part.......you know how much resining/glassing and not to mention .......SANDING! Will be needed?

The front section with the sub face, will be fiberglass as well, it will not actually be that straight, more curvy.

UPDATE!!

Had this for a while, been busy!

This is the port idea i'm LIKING! //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/yumyum.gif.0556df42231b304b9c995aefd13928a8.gif

Would be a Fiberglassed port, made with fleece and dowels, routed like sort of a conveyerr belt/engine belt ...can't explain.

OR i'll just make ribs same curve as the above using it as a template, n use those to guide the fleece.

Any1 ever use/make a fiberglass port?

How thick would it need to be?

imo, f/g'ing that top is going to be much more costly and time consuming compared to just doing it out of mdf...just sink the blade down on a table saw to put slits in the mdf allowing you to do those contours..its really easy.

Although instead of mdf I would use Oak or some type of real wood, not just a composition. You leave around 1/8th of an inch of uncut wood, cut prob about every .5-.75 inches, and that should give you enough clearance to cut that anyway you want. If it dosen't cut some more out of it. It is a really easy technique to do.

i was thinking that....i'd prob still have to do some glassing.

there was a REALLL good writeup i think on this site A WHILE back that showed it.

Make slits in a sheet of wood like so

| | | | | | | | | deep enough but not alll the way through, and it will flex slightly. The deeper the slit, the more the flex, but the more the chance of fing up the flex.

I think it might have been Ramos that did this...not sure, was lonnng ago.

But honestly, i'm thnking bout doing the bottom MDF, and the Top Fiberglass, but glassing the inside, to cut down on the needed sanding/preping to the outside that would b needed if doing it from the top.

same way the pictures show..im tellin ya man, you'll save alot of time...nothing more than setting the blade depth once and moving the fence over a bunch of times..
dude....i was thinking of slitting the OUTSIDE side of the top........but the BACK makes more sense like the pic! i love u man!
