What cha think??

all thats holding the wood together is itself, a thin layer left over from cutting it. glass the inside of the bend, oh yeah put wood glue and caulk in the bend cuts
I highly doubt in this instance the MDF is holding itself together. Look at the thickness of the thin layer left.

Also look at the edges of the MDF in the pictures above, u will see some sight over hang of the thin layer.

There IS something holding it together.

Not sure i'd be able to cut the mdf deep enough to where it will flex to the degree i want it to, like in the pic above.

IF it was me, I would take my time and round over all the top edges. Then fleece the entire curved section. If you do the curved section first ( leave access to the inside of the box) you can lay mat from the inside. Then finishing the outside would be a matter of some simple filler and sanding. just MHO though //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

And THAT"S why my friend JU are the MAN!

It wouldda been nice to do the mdf, cut down on the glassing process, but it looks unstable and weak.

Now if only a certain somebody would ship me some from Maimi

I have done the kurf ( relief ) cut method before. If done right, it will be very strong. I'm just old an set in my ways //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif But judging by the pictures of your design. Your going to need lots of cuts, and you have to cut different sections on different sides. To much thinking for my feeble brain //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

yea i'm sure u have, but do u see how deeeep those groves are man?

I highly doubt, from my experience with MDF that it would hold up to what looks like

I don't doubt ya man, just don't think it's all MDF used in the above examples.

It can be reinforced to be just as strong. The above examples have a laminate on the outside. Look closely at the pictures. Especially the outside of the bends where the cuts should be open. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

Surely, or stronger if you want. Just keep adding structural material. Oh and the speaker that InHuman (or really John Krutke) built in the pictures he filled the grooves with wood glue after bending them into shape. Being MDF is mostly glue, it was plenty strong but again he only put a single 4" driver in there. In your case do the same, fill with glue, and glass them on the inside for some structure and locations to put supports.

THATs what i been trynna say! It's got some kinda panel holding it together.

Do you know what exactly was used? curious for some other projects i have in mind.

I doubt it's actually holding it together. Thin wood laminates don't add much strength. It looks to be more for asthetics. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

theres nothing holding it together besides that 1/8th" dude. Just fill the slits with glue before you bend it and you'll be fine...
