What capacitor do I need?

I have a Kicker ZX750.1 and 2 Kicker CVR 12s. I had this problem, my subs cut out and then came back on repeatedly when I used my car's high beams or used my car's phone charger. I drive a 96 Camry. Will a capacitor solve this problem and what farad capacitor do I need? Also, does the brand name of the capacitor make a difference in sound?

No, a capacitor will not fix them, it will only bandaid it if anything.

You need to upgrade your batteries. Your alternator is struggling to keep up with the current draw, and a little more battery reserve should help it out.

If your running your current system in your sig (750 rms), I think a optima redtop or yellowtop up front should solce your problem. Also do the big 3. (check the wiring/ electrical forum there is a sticky there for it)

If you want to go cheap, a couple dekas should do it.

Have you checked your voltage drops? I'm guessing that you're pulling more current than the alternator wants to produce and your voltage is dropping to a level low enough to kick your amp into protect. You need to check your voltage drop and also check if the amp is going into protect.

when I check for voltage drop, I check the battery in the morning before i start the car and after its been running for a while right? And do I use AC volts with a dmm and connect the positive to the positive terminal on the battery? And how many minutes should I wait to check if the amp protection light comes on?

A cap will fix your dimming problems. You dont need to get a new alt and all that bull. A 2 fard would go well.

I'm not having dimming problems. I'm having sub cutting out problems.

Than you need to check you ground. I didn't read your entire post just read your title. Any way also take you battery to a auto store and have you battery and alt checked.

a cap would "bandaid" the problem like someone posted earlier....it wouldnt fix anything really.
