Component speakers have a separate driver and tweeter, they sound much better than your usual 2-way or 3-way speaker. Components are also more expensive, and usually handle more power. Some custom installation may be required to get them in your vehicle.

component speakers are good from my point of view. i think they are better because they come with a mid and tweeter plus the crossover. they crossover makes the sound quality better and you can set the settings to how you like depending on how you set your main crossover for your amps for the subs or your mids and high speakers. I prefer if you like system get a crossover 3 input 3 output. they okay...audiobahn got one its okay not the best but affordable, you know? so yeah thats good system you starting with though. i like infinity component sets though. they bad man...

look around in here man like i say polk audio, alpine type r, x, infinity kappa or perfect, kicker components. they all sound good but different because of different materials used on each component you know? so i prefer you go with infinity component set ether 2 way or 3 way man...one way its not so different from stock speakers man....infinity handles about max i say is like 280 watts. i bumped mine infinity kappa perfects with that much power man they okay...i got a directed 1000 by 4 channel on my mids and high...it running smooth. i am also looking for a better amp for my sub. i got two compvx but looking for a good amp maybe like directed 2400d. right now i bumping a punch 800 by 2 so its okay but not the best....i talk to you later

A crossover seperates the signal and sends the highs to the tweeters and the mids to the woofer... it doesnt make SQ better.

As far as front speakers, I would choose the MB Quart PCE 216.

They're a very clean sounding speaker, very precise, detailed highs, and very good midbass. Some say the tweets are too harsh, but if you tune them correctly, they sound very smooth.

And for rears, something like the DKF 116 would be just fine. You don't need much for rears.

If I were you, I'd run the fronts with both Punch 45's... run one amp for the left, one for the right. Those Quarts will take some serious power. I fed mine 300w RMS, and they sounded awesome. Then, just run the rears off of the head unit.

You sir, are a dumbass. 'Where you set the dbs'... that is known as the tweeter attenuation. And that does not improve the sound quality. It allows you to tailor the output of the tweeters to your liking. If you think JL mids and tweets on a JL crossover the nicest you've seen, then you haven't seen much.

I'll give you two options: shut the hell up till you learn something, or quit the forums. Hanging yourself is an option.

mb quart is good but big money . i'm talking $$$$$ you know...you need some okay system like what i recommend you, you know? well up to you man...i look off street first man...dont spend so much money on system man...save some money for the future man....never know when emergency comes man....trust me i been thru it....what goes around comes around man..
