Hi everybody,
I just purchased a 2003 Chevy Impala and unfortunately it doesnt have a CD player. It has the factory tape/am/fm radio. I went to circuit city and purchased a sony head unit that plays mp3 cd's and has an auxiliary input, thinking i could connect my mp3 player. When I went to have it installed, they told me it would be 170 for parts because the factory stereo has to be left in, since it controls something in the car. I wasnt sure if he was lying so I gave back the stereo. Has anybody ever heard of this situation and what do you recommend I do? I have no experience with car audio and probably wouldnt be able to install it myself. I dont want anything expensive or fancy, just something that plays mp3 cd's and that I can hook up my mp3 player to.
