What can Goob do to make this site better

Well I was just asking...I mean, if the separate sub-section would still not please the sponsors then so be it, but Goob (or anyone of power for that matter) has never confirmed this...
Well Goob is the only one "of power". But I think he does not want to risk it, but who knows he can be a little unpredictable.

.... on another note- i have a suggestion about the pm layout........ on another forum (invision board based) the format was changed, so that your pm's are set up like threads, so that you can read and reply full conversations on one page, instead of having to got back to inbox/outbox and click on the next reply... like if you want to back-read what was written. the change is really a god-send... another couple things i love about the site- there is premium memberships, where you get more pm storage, no waiting between shouts in the shoutbox, other stuff, but more importantly, there is a premium section. it's much like the mod room you guys have here, and pretty much any content goes, because you have to have a premium subscription to get in, or even see that the section exists.... i'm in no way trying to turn this site into a model of that one, just throwing things out there to think about.....

Im not sure the member base would like a section whose content is blocked by all but paying members. One of the appeals of this site is its free to the members.

The moderator back room is for mod-only discussions. Things like rule adjustments and otherwise boring administrative discussions. There is no real content there non-mods are missing out on.

Whatever man, I'm not buying it. I bet you guys have parties and shit back there...

I know the old mods used to have discussions about specific members back there (to ban? idk)...always wondered if my name was ever brought up

I'm not the one that brought it up in the other thread, and considering I live with my girlfriend I'd say your argument is moot. Just because we like to look at some nekked pictures of women doesn't mean we're virgin losers browsing from our mom's basement, it just means we're warm blooded males, something you and your vagina wouldn't know anything about //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/fyi.gif.9f1f679348da7204ce960cfc74bca8e0.gif
GO FIND A PO RN SITE.. and stop crying like a bi tch. Theres thousands of sites. go to them. one click.. audios

If action is considered, there are discussions about how to handle a specific situation or member, yes. But again, really just administrative stuff. I remember years ago one of the old mods (Noah iirc) said the deleted threads get moved there, so I half expected to find the jailbait thread there when I was made mod. But, no dice. lol

I deleted that one. When the mods originally were put in place, we moved threads to be deleted back there and goob eventually deleted them. when spam was out of control some of the mods took it upon themselves to move the threads to the backroom instead of deleting them. I guess they felt this would get goobs attention.

Several people have asked for clarification on 'positive comments' in the classifieds being considered post dumping. Its been discussed and the rules in the classifieds have been altered to include this line: "Positive comments such as 'GLWS' are at the discretion of the seller. If the seller does not want comments unrelated to a transaction, even positive ones, they must specify it in the ad. Otherwise, non harassing comments are allowed. If a poster is unsure his comment will be viewed as harassing, dont post it."

So basically its up to the seller to specify if he/she does not want these types of posts allowed. Like said, if you aren't sure how your comment will be received, dont post it. Hopefully this answers all questions in regard to what is or is not 'post dumping'.

Thanks for altering the rule list MoT.

That's exactly how I thought it should be. Saying GLWS shouldn't exactly be in the same category as straight up dumping, but at the same time getting 30 guys coming in telling you your a good seller or that it's a good price really clogs up a thread. And I don't know about anyone else but when I see a for sale ad with pages upon pages of replies I usually just pass it up since it's difficult to determine if the **** thing is even still for sale.

Suggestion:

I already mentioned this to Bob, but I should probably make it known to everyone else.

I frequent each classifieds section, and weed out all the posts with no pics, no username/date, etc. Ones that don't meet the rules. I am caught up on all the classifieds, so that each day that I hop in, I only look for the threads that were started either Yesterday or Today.

The issue is that searching through all the bumped threads that were started weeks ago is tedious. There is only a filter for the newest post, not the newest thread.

I just ask that a mod who is good with editing the forum layout would add in a filter for threads that are the newest (newest started threads). This will make it easier for me to report threads, which makes your job easier and the classifieds section healthier. It will also free up time on my part so I may even begin to actually look past the first post for anyone who post dumps (including the new rule).

On some sites, it is practice to temporarily move a controversal topic to the mod section to discuss it as a group before it is yanked or anyone is banned.
