What can a person do to boost AM reception, clarity, and sound quality? I have noticed that most aftermarket car head units these days do not really pay much attention to the AM band. So is there like a filter or something (yeah im a noob) that can be done to boost AM quality? I listen to my local political stations a lot as well as Art bell talk about aliens. Any ideas?

A quality antenna works wonders, but they arent cheap. I bought an aftermarket one that my dad recomended (hes into cb's and such) for about $60, because I was getting crappy reception from my satelite radio, the signal became clear as balls, as I rarely fall below 4 (of 5) bars in any area

That sounds like a good idea. Can you post a link to the antenna you used? I ask cause I have tried several over the years with little to no success. But maybe you found the right one.
