What battery will I need?????

I will be running 2 1000d sundown audio amps, and 1 100.4 sundown audio amp. I might put in a truckputer in in the future and I want to know what battery I will need.

I currently have a 130 amp alt stock alternator, and 1 heavyduty battery upfront.

Do I have to upgrade my alt to say a 250 amp, or can I get away fine with a larger battery in addition to my main battery?

So I dont need an extra battery?

I was informed earlier that I need a battery with a minimum cah or aah something like that of between 100-130 with about the same wattage as the amps. so roughly 2400, plus I would need an additional 250-320 watts for the truckputer. so my total is around 2700ish.

I highly doubt that the yellow top replacing my stock battery will prevent my future problems. I am going to so the big 3 though so no worry there.

No matter how large of an alt you get you'll probably still need a second large battery to help level the voltage in the short periods before the alt's regulator plays catch up with your demand when you're talking about that much wattage.

i think im for sure gonna do the 250 amp alt. So with that in mind, what battery do I need, haha im really just looking for a spoon fed option here. I originally had planned 2 Kinitek 1400's, then I changed to a Powermaster 2700 and now I was told I need at least 1 maybe 2 Power master 3100's. So can anyone just tell me straight up for the best price what I should pick up?

Local I can get the 1400's for 200 a piece, gets can deliever the powermaster 2700 for 270ish to my front door.

Ive run over 2000rms with a factory 110 amp alt, big 3 in 4 gauge and a stock large battery with no dimming

You dont need a HO alt, a nice big battery or just an extra and a good big 3 is all I would do to start

You will need a second battery to facilitate the current demand, definitely look into a G31 size like everyone said, if price is a factor check out the Deka Intimidator 9A31, big 3 is definitely a good idea, and with the kind of draw you're looking at an HO alternator seems like it might be a suitable option to supplement your system on top of the 2nd battery

That stock alternator should be fine, big 3 is a must obviously and a secondary battery wouldnt hurt anything. Always great to get your exact current draw to figure out wat you should actually have, if you ever have any questions on batteries feel free to hit me up! //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif

Wow I never realise that those dekas were so cheap, but is there a catch that I should know about, like do these sometimes not put out correct power or anything? I dont really know what could go wrong with a battery.

I am about to do a search on their batteries now on this forum. I think I will hold off on my alt then for now, and I will upgrade that around christmas.

So I called carquest local to me (3 of them) and asked about their rebranded deka intimidator 31 battery. I was quoted 3 different prices, 199, 172, and 301 and they all pull from the same distributor. Just wanted to share that with someone.

I was told by a local dealer that a Kinetik HC1400 would cost me $360. I told him I could get it online for under $200 and his price miraculously dropped to $240. Always threat to go online //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

A D3400 will work perfectly as a suplemental battery, plus it will accept the Ibar system to make additional amp conections and grounding easier. It would be $239 shipped, (I'll pay the shipping) and will absolutely blow away a 1400 Kinetik.

Avoid the Deka's if you can, they are cheap, but they are pretty weak for their size- they use a high percentage of recycled lead that reduces their shelf life signifigantly.

Optimas are OK if you get them real cheap.

Doesnt the D3400 have a lower AH compared to the Deka Intimadator? I believe with around 2600 watts I would need minimum 100 ah up to 130.

The Deka 9A31 is 100aH and the D3100 is 117aH. Both are based off 20 hour rate.

Mechman, Do you mean the D3100 and not the D3400. I've never seen a 3400 model.
