what battery do i need

I am adding a battery to the back with pos/neg runs of 1/0 wire, I have a 130 amp stock alternator on a 2000 mercury mystique so basically have 125 amps free( just a joke but its a low usage car), I am running big 3 1/0 at the same time. I do most listening with the car on and listen to everything except country and western,

I need to know what battery I need cuz if I understand right I don't need high AH if I run mostly with engine running and also

Can I get two or three smaller/lower AH and wire them somehow to get same effect as a larger one?

I can find 5 ah to 15 ah batterys for cheap and wondered if I can link them somehow to produce a 50+ ah power cell or is that necessary

Being that you listen to the system with the car running most of the time, why not just get a group 31 AGM, odds are it will have a smaller footprint than 2-4 smaller batts and will be cheaper if you shop smart... Sams club carries cheaper group 31 AGM's for around $170...

I am running 1700 watts respectively and space is not an issue I have a spare tire well that needs weighted and filled it is 2 feet X 2.5 feet X 8 inches tall
With 1,700 watts I wouldn't even add a batt, I'd upgrade the batt under the hood with a good AGM that will fit in your current batt's space, run your 1/0 & do your 1/0 big 3 and you will be fine

Yes but this i all going in a perm install that will only get more powerful gear so I need to run all wire I need, first upgrade from parts currently installed is two DC level 4 w/level5 softs and a DC 5.0, my thinking is install and set up the box now for less hassle to work in tight spaces later

Just need to know if something like a 20-25 Ah battery will suffice with existing system being played mostly while running or should i buy a 75+ Ah one since I plan on stepping up later

it would prolly be fine on the small system ,but when you go to the bigger setup ,you'll need 3 group 31 batts for a dc 5.0 and one under the hood, and a ho alt . so you will be wasting money ,like said do it right the first time
