What batteries do you civic owners run

I use an Optima Yellow top in my 2005.

My regular battery lasted about one year till my system killed it, had alot of headlight dimming with it. The Optima cut down on the dimming alot, but not completely.

There are alot of cars now that run eld type electrical systems in cars to save a few gallons of gas a year. Thing is if they only send out 13.8 v that in itself takes a long while to put back what was taken out of the battery to start the car. Add in the fact that some of these systems do not even try charging the battery until it is resting at 80 to 85% and only charging them up to that level means they will burn through batteries about every 2 years without an audio system. A battery under the hood gets hot and if you leave the battery at a low state of charge it eventually gets sulfated and that 80 to 85% eventually becomes the new 100%. When the battery is not fully charged the chemicals break down and sulfer in the battery chemicals forms a layer on the lead plates making the battery slow to recharge or not recharge or worse yet crack a plate in the battery.
