what are your opinions on this thread?

yea, but there are guys in there saying the big 3 is useless in any situation and that H.O. alts and extra batteries are needed. the thread starts with a kid asking why his lights are still dimming after adding a 1.5 farad cap. all he is running is a mono-block class D 1000 watts sub amp.

some are suggesting he needs to add extra batteries and some are suggesting a h.o. alt.

i suggested the big 3.

sry....i didn't get passed the first 8 or so before i just quit:verymad:

BIG 3 all the way . I have a good friend with the exact car , basically same amp output. Stock battery . Lights were dimming so we decided to replace the battery . Helped a little but then I did the Big 3 for him and it got rid of all dimming issues . I dont know why those people are recommending things like extra batteries and HO alts . A bit overkill if you ask me

My dad put bigger fuel pumps, transmission controller and solenoids, etc on his F250, it started pulling enough power that it heated up the alt to battery cable and started melting the insulation.

Its obvious that enough current could be pulled to heat the wire enough to hurt throughput. A bigger cable (part of the big 3) was definately worthwhile there. So its not a pointless upgrade, even on a stock charging system.
