So I was gonna go to a guy for a system and you guys helped me and told me it was a bad deal. I have a friend who will install for me and I will be buying all the parts online I think.

First off I want this thing to sound clean and sound loud.

Are these the things I need and what else needs to be added to the list? I have a 2005 Honda Accord.

1 - Head Unit

2 - Subwoofers (12")

1 - Amp (4 Channel for inside speakers)

1 - Amp (I think I have to get a mono one for the 2 subs)

2 - 6 1/2" Speakers for front

2 - 9x6 Speakers for back

1 - Equalizer

Also, are the websites on this main a page really a good place to look or are they just advertisements?

id get this...

hu

front amp

front speakers

sub amp

sub/s

extra eq if you want (i have one, love it)

rear speakers usually just screw up the sq and a nice set up front will provide plenty of volume

also, taking out the rear dash speakers lets the bass vent into the cabin

some top online shops or companies

dont really need an eq. most decent head units have processing built in. As far as amps you have a ton of options. i believe there have been some 5 channel on here for sale for decent prices. You will also need power wire, rcas, and connectors.

true you dont need an extra eq but i love being able to tweak on the fly with mine esp with all of Alpines menus. best $60 ive spent

1 - Head Unit with RCA outputs

2 - Subwoofers (12") built to spec enclosure no prefab

1 - Amp (4 Channel for inside speakers)

1 - Amp (I think I have to get a mono one for the 2 subs)

1 - 6 1/2" COMPONENTS for front doors

1 - 6 1/2 coaxials for rear doors

you only need 1 set of speakers in the front and 1 set in the back, not 2.

The typical high school kid on ca.com's system generally consists of:

1. Factory HU

2. Stock Speakers

3. BIG Class D amplifier

4. BIG Subwoofers capable of hitting in the 140s or 150s on a TermLab

5. The magical, mythical Big 3

Then, after he roasts his 3000 watt Class D amplifier on a stock electrical system, the high school student posts a thread with the subject of "Blew My Amp" and in the body states that the gains were down all the way and he doesn't know why his Civic's 80 amp alternator couldn't keep up with his 3,000 watt amp at 1 ohm.

Of course, I keed, I keed. I am bored while waiting on the future wife to show up for supper.

this is the way to go!

Like stated above, one thing you need to realize is how important the box is. Put your subs in a shitty box and they'll sound like shit no matter how nice they are. Have someone on here design you one, and you'll need to build it yourself or again have someone on here make you one.

Where in LA are you? You're welcome to come listen to my car if you want.

Hey thanks for all the help so far. I'll make sure to respond for those who are trying to help me. But what company should I be looking for clarity and loudness? Is JL a good choice?

all the ones i listed can get loud and sound good but if its a sh!tty install, gear wont matter

whats your budget. have you seen your buddies installs?
