What are some good SQ subs?

I've never really looked at sound quality to be honest and now that I am, I would love some suggestions. I would like to get either a 8 or 10 and have it sound really well at relatively loud levels. I am like almost everyone else and I do have a budget. I was looking at the JL W7 but I don't really want to fall into the JL Bandwagon. I was looking at DC Lvl 4's but I don't have any idea how they stand on SQ. So really any suggestions would be very much appreciated. Power isn't really an issue, since I will be buying accordingly, within reason.

Acoustic Elegance AV series or his underhung drivers. Also the Stereo Integrity BM only needs .5 cubes sealed and should sound great.
