What are my speakers actually getting powerwise?

OK guys, I got my new RF amps installed and everything sounds great.

I was curious how much my speakers were getting exactly and these birthsheets have me confused.

The P200.2 lists 86W RMS per channel @ 4 ohms. I am running it in stereo and my components are 4 ohm, so I know they are getting this 86W. How could I wire them to achieve a 2 ohm load so that I can give them 135W each?? I'd have to bridge the amp and run them in parallel right? But doing this would give me a mono signal on my components. Is this a definite no-no?

The P325.1 lists 241W RMS per channel @ 4 ohms. This amp has two pairs of speaker outputs, but the manual says they are wired in parallel internally. So, my 2 - 4ohm subs are wired in parallel to produce a 2 ohm load. The birthsheet says 400W Total RMS @ 2 ohms. Am I correct in assuming each of my subs are getting 200W???

I know this is simple, but I have "overthunk" this to the point that I've confused myself.

I wouldn't wire components as 2 Ohm... you will lose damping factor. Will sound better (quality not quantity) at 4 ohm per channel. You would need another set of components or some other speakers to do that.

Correct on your subs.

SO 2ohm is not good?

Awesome! Thanks for the quick reply!

I will leave well enough alone.

Let me tell you, two Pioneer 8's wang in a 1 cu. ft. sealed box with 200W each! //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif

Not with multiple speakers off the same amp channel, no. You screw up the xover points by doing that.

If you want more power going to your speakers, you'll unfortunately need a different amp. There are only a handful of speakers that are 2 Ohm, such as the Infinity Kappas.
