Really good 1000 watt + bang for the buck amps?

kicker > hifonics
i believe someones selling a sundown for 450-500 ish in the classifides, best amp you can get for the money
although im sure sundown amps are awesome......i don't think they are worth the money....

Don't know what the general consensus here is, but in my area, where trunks rattle all day long with 4 12's, 3 15's, 3 18's etc in the trunk, (not necessarily what I like, but it's what is going down where I am at) people love the Planet Audio D class amps. $270-$450 depending on where you buy from what I understand. Good bang for the buck easy repair if you ever blow it up. If you do your own installs, install some fans in the amp or in your rack and you will get more reliability from them, and keep that voltage up, caps and extra batts help.

For amplifiers, to me as long as they aren't low low end brands (such as pyramid and legacy) then it doesn't really matter too much. Hifonics and kicker are great, many argue hifonics is better and many argue kicker is better, i personally think kicker is a bit more sturdy...but you know what?

Who gives a shit, they'll both perform giving a strong output and will last pretty much just as long anyway

so if you want bang for the buck, hifonics is probably one of the best bang for the buck amps out there

Hifonics and Autotek (both owned by same parent co.) seem to have the lowest cost per watt. I'd give an honorable mention to PG also. I'm also looking into c4 audio but don't have enough information to give a thumbs up yet. For a sub amp, you might consider going with an amp that has a higher order crossover... such as 18 or 24 DB Per octave low-pass... might help keep the bass up front effect for better sound quality.

Any examples? Thanks!

Just a mono one amp. I have an SE-12 but may step it up shortly. I will stay with a single 12 and the SE is D4.
Dual four ohm speaker with coils in parallel = 2 ohms.

There is a kenwood kac 9102D refurbished at webzone.us for $119... I'd call before buying online to make sure they have it in stock. Looks like it's overrated, but that does not matter... watts per dollar is what you want to look at... should put out about 600 watts rms into 2 ohms.

HIFONICS TXI7506 750 Watt on ebay for $134, you could see if sonicelectronixs or onlinecarstereo would match the price if you don't like ebay

500 Watts RMS x 1 chan. @ 2-Ohms

750 Watts RMS x 1 chan. @ 1-Ohm (if you upgrade your sub to a dual-2 ohm)

It's class B and not supposed to be as efficient as class D, if that matters.

This one is even more power:

ikesound.com has some also.

All these amps have 24db/octave lowpass crossovers.

I don't know many other amps around 250 dollars shipped that put out around 1000-1200 watts rms like the Hifonics Brutus line. Me and a friend both use the same amplifier (he has two of them, one for each 12" Fi SSD) and have had no problems with them at all and we run em hard.
