What ampifier do i need?

i have a Q12D2 SPL 12" 3,000 watt dual 2 ohm voice coil sub with a 1,500 watt rms handling. i have two of these so im wondering what amp do i need or what size. also any links to an amp at an affortable price would be appreciated. just a note should i build a vented box for each or a enclosed one?

they discontinued that product and its hard to find, but they replaced it with the QA3000D alpha series so i will probly just go with that but if im willing to spend the little extra money and go with the QA4000D alpha series would that be a better bet?

You'll spend more on electrical upgrades to feed that amp than the whole rest of the system. You don't nearly "need" 3kW. You don't even "need" 1kW. More power means more support equipment in the way of wire, batteries and alternators to keep it running.

By the way, there is no way in hell that amp linked to could produce anywhere near what it's rated for. It has a whole 120A of fuses and is a class A/B amp and thus around 70% efficient, best case, assuming a 14V power supply the best that it could do is around 1kW. That said, that would be plenty of power but getting that power from a class A/B would be dumb.

what am should i go with then? and what do you mean by electrical upgrades, will i need to do any to run my system with the two 2" subs stated at the top of the thread and say a QA3000D amp? and is a capacitor worth the money? ive herd they are a waste of money from some people.
