What amp to run 2 sets of speakers

hey, i just upgraded the speakers in my car and was wondering what amp i should buy to run them? they are 4 ohm, 40 rms and 120 watt max. nothing to great buy way better than stock. i read somewhere that doubling the rms wont hurt the speakers especially if i turn the gain down. is this true? I was thinking about getting a two channel amp around 60-75 rms, to run my two sets of speakers, would this work?
