What amp should I get?

I am going to get two 12' kickers. They have 300 wats peak power (150 RMS), 27-500Hz frequency response, 88.3 dB sensitivity, and 4 ohms impedance. What amp should I get to get the most out of these subs?

A amp that does 300 rms at 2 ohms...

150 + 150 = 300

4 ohms divided by 2 = 2ohms

I dont have that much money at the moment. What else could I get that are kinda cheap? Ill have around 800 to spend on the whole system.

Or an amp that does 600 at 4 ohms....run em at 8 ohms to the amp. Better efficiency, and sq.

you can get a really nice system for $800. don't get the kickers. i gaurantee you they are mainstream junk. what are you looking for in your system?

True but normally if somebody is looking at comps they dont want to fork out 600 at 4 ohm money

The kickers are fine if you only want to spend $40 bucks a woofer. I wouldnt pay more then that

I would put more into the deck first.. Its earier to change out amps and subs then a deck. Get one that can be expanded.

i suggest you hit up the classifieds on here for a deck. you can probably find a nice one for cheap. don't be afraid to buy used equipment here, most of us try stuff for a couple weeks then turn around and sell it to try something new.

I have a 2003 impala. I have a pretty good size trunk for the subs. I already measured and I can fit 2 12' subs with the smaller box (ported or sealed, I forget).

go with 2 audio que sdc2.5 12in and a audio que d1200 amp. it will run you about 527$ and they are very good.
