What amp should i get ?

I am powering 2 MA Audio 18 '' XE's. I know thease subs are way under-rated, on their listed specs.

my Subs are from the 2002-2004 era.

i have been lead towards thease 2 amps and was curious if any of you have input on them.

-Quantum Audio QCA4000D 4000 Watt MAX (2200 RMS) 1ohm Stable mono block Amp.

- HiFonics BXI2607D 2600 RMS 1ohm Stable

my box is a 10ft ported box, the subs are inverted.

Right now both of them are being driven by a MTX thunder 600d its not nearly strong enough, Or 1ohm stable so it is not a good match-up for the subwoofers.

I need somthing that can connect to them both, they are 4ohm Sub's

Any input/advice would be helpfull i am some-what new to this part of car audio.

am i correct in thinking that at 1ohm's a 1200 watt RMS amp would be driving 1200 watts to each sub or will that be split between both ? this is what was recommended in my previous thread " SAE-1200D CLASS D MONO BLOCK "

if it will be going thru to both, i dont need somthing in the 2000 watt range, but if it is being split up, then i will. I do not know enough about ohm's to know how it works, but i am fairly certian that at 1ohm both subs get = amount of power, i could be wrong though and thats why i want to ask on here before upgrading.

How about a US amps amplifier...they are way better than the ones you mentioned and there is one for slightly higher than the hifonics amps you mentioned and they are way better quality.....

there is one on sale here for $489.95 usually well over 600 for this amp

It is 2000 RMS @ 1 ohm

US Amps uses better quality components, they are much more long term reliable, and will most likely put out more than their rated power as opposed to the Hifonics. As was stated before the Hifonics is a good amp and puts out alot of power, but are known to be overrated in their power output a bit. US Amps are well known for their quality and are in a different league.

Yeah it's exactly what fischman said they are much more long term reliable and use better components...and like he said us amps puts out more power than what they are rated for..and in my opinion you are better off in the long run spending just a little more money to have a amplifier that is going to put of more power and last longer

ok, and with this amp my 2 18 inch MA audio subs should be reciving 1300 RMS each, around wired up in 1ohm setup. correct?

yes, as long as you have the electrical to back it up. I have a feeling your subs might go boom though

they are being replaced with 2 MA audio 18 XL 's (witch can handle 1200+ watts RMS) look them up on youtube.

thease are pretty old but rugged subs,MA audio always under-rates their products and thease are known to be able to handle way more than the rated power limits.

when my MTX amp was wired down to 1ohm putting out around 800 watts to each ( unfortnatly going into protection mode after a couple days )

they where eating that power and wanting more, thease subs are insanely strong. I will deffinatly make video of when i get them setup with this new amp.

i have a capacitor, and a pretty heavy duty battery what size of alternator would you guys recommend upgrading too ?
