What amp should I get?

kicker 600.1? umm MTX 600.1? JL 500/1? for 200$ u can get a good amp

Actually...no, those amps run 500-600 watts at 1 ohm, not 2 cowboy..

The Kicker KX600.1 makes a rated 600 watts @ 2 Ohms and is not rated to even be 1 Ohm stable.

I've never heard of an MTX 600.1 so I cannot comment on that one.

The JL Audio 500/1 makes a rated 500 watts at any load between 1.5 and 4 Ohms (regardless of where in that range the actual load falls output remains the same)

Ah, I see you've done your homework, I stand corrected... I just assumed the 600.1 was half power of the kx1200.1, guess I was wrong, and yes the mtx 600.1is correct as well, also, how does that jl stay consistent at 1.5 all the way to a 4 ohm load, that would change the amount of wattage running from it because of the ohms (aka electrical resistance), how does that amp work like that because that electrical resistance would GREATLY affect the output on a normal amp if you ran it at 1.5 then 4, it would mor than half the power output, so how does it work, in lamens terms plz...

I do not possess enough technical knowledge to give you a layman's explanation or a full-out geek explanation. If I'm not mistaken (and there always is that possibility!) it's something in the design of the power supply.

To the extent that when JL released their slash-series amps (as this is a feature incorporated into all of the slash-series amps JL makes but is not included in the e-series units) JL Audio was given technology of the year or some similar award.
