What amp should I be using

I have a 12" L7 and im pushing it with a 1200 watt Power Acustic Gothic Series. It is pushesit but it cuts out often when the bass gets to much which requires me to lower the volume or lower the basss/sub levels on my car. My friend that has been in car audio for years is suggesting a new amp. I was wondering if yall can help out or maybe help me solve this problem?

lol im not a power acoustik hater but that amp might be doing 400watts. if you just wanting something cheap id go with a audiopipe aspm1500. you can get them new for about $120 shipped new

My friend was trying to buy a new system so I just bought that ha. Got a deal on it. I'm new to the whole car audio thing. One of my friends had told me to try a Rockford Fosgate 500. I never heard of the amp you named ha. I'm not really looking for cheap either. But I ain't looking for the highest quality either. Just something that will push the sub good

Try his amp in your car. It might not be the amp that is the issue. It's possible it's cutting out for another reason, possibly electrical. What car is it in? What impedance are the subs wired at? What size is your alternator? What batteries do you have, what size is your wiring? Have you measured your voltage? Give us as much info as possible.

I believe it's my amp. I hooked up my friends 1700 watt Brutus and it pushed my sub hard but if any more we could of blown it. So I think it's my amp. But i dont know it could be something with the amp wiring on this amp. But I just think it ain't got enough to push the sub
