What amp setup will I need for two 12w7's

So i'm looking into getting two JL 12w7's right now and know that they are 3ohms a piece, so finding an amp that will power them will be a bit tricky.

I also know that the JL 1000.1 is a good choice since it can run anywhere from 1ohm to 4ohms but I dont want to spend 600 bucks on a 1000.1 JL. Can you guys suggest an amp that will run these babies not to there full potental but lets say 75%?

Or would it just be a better choice to get one 12w7 and get a amp that powers it to its full potential?

any amp that is 1ohm stable. search and you will find!

anything 2000rms @1ohm will do ya well.

You will want to go with somethen like a DDM3 but there a bit pricey there a couple in the classifieds for around $600 but worth every penny

dont underpower your subs.... my 10'' l7s dont sound so good with the power acoustik A1800db i got hooked to em... cuz the a1800 is only puttin out around 950w, luckily the AQ1200d i bought just came in... cant wait to get home and install this badboy

Thats not always true it also depends on how effiecent your box is

Also, if I did end up getting two and a 1-ohm stable amp. How would I wire them?

Your going to want to wire them in parallel to get a 1.5ohm load which is positive to positive and negative to negative for the subs and positive to the amp and negative to the amp.

Alright so lets say i get an amp thats 1 ohm stable at 1200rms and at 2 ohms its 800rms...I would be getting 1000rms for one sub or would it be inbetween 2 and 4ohms because its a 3ohm sub?

Its going to be 3 ohms cause its a single voice coil sub
