what amp can do this?

Looking for a decent amp to run some comps and a small sub.

What amp would run some 6.5 comps on 2 channels and then put out about 300 rms bridged on the last channel for a small 8" sub?

Also how do you hook that up? do you use separate rca cables for the channels or use the filter to tune the sub? never messed with a 4 channel amp?

I'm looking to do virtually the same thing but I need my amp to fit under my driver's seat. If that MB Quart was smaller it'd definitely be on my list.

The Alpine PDX-4.100 or PDX-4.150 also fit the bill, although are more pricey than the MB. JL HD600/4 would also work, but again, is pretty pricey.

As buck said, run your front channel rca's to the front channel on the amp, then power the comps through the front channel on the amp. Run your sub signal on the rear or sub rca's from your headunit to the rear channel on the amp. Bridge those speaker wires and send to your sub. Quick search will show you some wiring diagrams for bridging and or series/parallel wiring if you have a dual voice coil sub.

Subscribing to see what other amps people recommend...

someone else told me about that MB. But does it do rated power? and is it a good sq amp? also whats it do bridged to the sub i see it says 500x2 so whats that for one sub?

In your configuration (according to the specs I found) you'd have

125x2 @ 4ohm for your front components

500x1 @ 4ohm for your sub

It does seem strange to me that it would run that much to your sub though. When running all 4 channels it'll run 500w rms (125x4) but when bridged to 2 channels it'll run 1000w rms (500x2)?? I don't understand how it doubles it's power just by bridging. I would have expected it to run closer to 250x2 when bridged... But I'm a noob, so someone feel free to explain the logic if they'd like.

When you bridge 2 channels at 4 ohms each channel is seeing 2 ohms. According to the specs each channel will do 250watts at 2 ohms. So if u were to bridge channels 3 and 4 together at 4 ohms that would equal 500 watts.

No need to bypass the amp. Most use an LOC that takes the full amped signal and turns it into a flat RCA level signal. Here is the newest I have...
