what am i doing wrong??

alright i have a 98 chevy tahoe and i replaced the alternator with another stock because old one was bad and i replaced the battery less than 4 months ago but when i play my subs my headlights still dim. im only running a 800w kenwood amp. ive seen much older cars that handle more power with stock electrical whats wrong with my electrical? also i do have a spot under the hood for a second battery. i want a second but i am unsure on how to run it. this is being run off a factory radio as well. so i have an out line converter thing. any help is appreciated. and sorry for the noob question but i am a noob...

Do the 'Big 3', that should help. You shouldn't have to add a sceond battery, though. What kind of battery do you have now?

check your ground also a good ground can help w/ dimming

battery is the "best" one from advanced auto parts. my ground is on the painted section of my rear door hatch.(only spot i could find other than seat mounts.) and how hard is the big three?
