What Alarm for an Older Truck??

Well I need to get an alarm for my '87 Chevy Suburban. This is due to incressed crime in my town. Im not sure what alarm i should get and i need a bit of help. there is no one in my town that does Alarm Installs either....so i need all the advice i can get.

My advice would be drive somewhere even if it takes a while to get your alarm installed. Go to a mall somewhere they have a audio place and go check out a few movies while you wait for it to be done.

Installing an alarm is not the same as installing your own audio gear, you want to make sure it is done right.

Thing is i cant drive anywhere....i live out in Bush Alaska the only way to get here is to fly lol. I think there might be a guy in town that can do the install...he does Auto Start Systems so im sure he might have done a few alarm systems.

If he can do auto start or remote start systems he can do an alarm system. Good luck bro and choose your system wisely. Remember. Clifford, Python, Viper, or crimestopper.

true i think it could be tbi tho. but anyways how much do you want to spend what all are you looking for in the alarm. regular 1 way, 2 way LED or 2 way LCD?

Go to a bush flight FBO, talk to the chief mechanic and ask him to help ya with it, few bucks and some beers and you probably will have one of the nicest installs out there. make sure you have some relays to cut-off the starter & ignition when armed, and take the dashpad off when you install it so you can mount everything really far up in the dash where people cant get to it, also wrap all your wires in wire wrap so they look factory.
