What 2 12's to run off a 500/1?

All right, this is my first post so here it goes... I fried my first system which were 2 w3v2's in a sealed enclosure powered by a 500/1. Fried the subs but I believe the amp still works. Didn't have money so a friend gave me his old stuff (two sony explodes and an explode amp... bad I know). Now I want to upgrade to something a little louder. I loved the sound of the w3's but don't know if I want to buy another one. I have a working one sitting in my room. Just have to reglue the dustcap. I think I might want to try something different though.

So, I was wondering what 2 12's would sound good or decent being powered by a 500/1 in a sealed enclosure (1 cu. ft. each I believe)? I really don't know what I am going for, I guess SQL. Just something that better/louder than the explodes. Being in college I really don't have a lot of money to spend. I really would like to keep it to a total of $200-250. The more inexpensive the better. Here is what I am considering...

2 Cerwin Vega VMax's- a little over $200

2 Pioneer TS-W306's- about $150

2 MTX 5500's- about $180-190

2 Dayton dvc's- about $200 (Not familiar with Dayton so I don't know if they sound good sealed)

1 JL w3v2- $150-200

Out the listed, what would be my best bet? Any considerations or opinions?

I don't think they blew because of anything I did. I pretty sure water somehow leaked into my trunk and got on the amp. It fried the subs but I think the amp still works.

I forgot about the Infinity Refs. They look pretty good. I just can't decide out of the subs that are listed. The Pioneer's look good just because they are the least expensive. I have heard good things about the Cerwin Vega's and Infinity's. I just threw in the 5500's because they are pretty cheap. Don't know much about the Dayton's but they are pretty inexpensive. I can get another w3 since I already have one, but I might want a different sound.

What about Diamond Audio D3's? They look pretty good, but I don't know much about them. I was also looking at Clif Designs subs, but when I think of them I think of not so great equipment. I just want something louder than the sony's because they just aren't cutting it. But I do realize that I am working with only $200-250 for two 12's.
