What 12" subs for 500 watts RMS?

My budget was around 160 for BOTH subs.

How would that RE sounds in the second box i listed (2.5^3, 38hz) off ~500 watts? is that too much power

the 38hz box is tuned way to high to be anything but a fart box, its going to be very peaky and have very little low end.

okay **** it then, so how would those 2 entry level subs sound off 500 rms?

theyre going to be underpowered about 100 watts, will they still hit good? or should i get more power? (250 watts each, they need 300 ish)

He's only working with 500 watts total, 250 per sub in this case.

memphis pr 12s and 15s are rated 250 rms each and are cheap

Um, not really. You'll be hard-pressed to find ANY sub in which 1.5 cubes is "too big". For most 12"s, 1.5 cubes is on the lower tolerable end. Those MB Quarts in particular are optimal at over 4 cubes EACH. That's over 8 cubes for the box.
You best match for that box are these: RE Audio SRX12 12" Dual 4 ohm Car Subwoofer their optimal enclosure is 2 cubes each (4 total) and that's about as close as you're going to get. 32 Hz is kind of high of those though, so expect a bump (car transfer fn will exacerbate this further), unless you EQ it down. If somebody finds a better match for that box spec-wise for under $100 each, I will buy them for you. (Disclaimer: previous statement not legally binding)

False, they like around 0.65-0.75 ea. We are referring to the pre-maxxsonics shit. RWEs simply wont do ported, excellent way to bottom them out and smash the coil
