Ok so im having a weird white noise/crackling sound in my right speaker. Its not terribly loud and is pretty much masked by the music when its playing but when paused its very noticeable and its only on the right side the left is perfect.

I just got a new HU and installed it today but i dont think thats the issue.

I think it may be the external amp but im not sure.

Anything i should do to diagnose the problem?

swap the rca's at the amp and see if the noise is now in the other speaker, if not then its the speaker.
yea it switches sides when i swap rca's from right to left. I knew it was not the speakers tho.

if it were the amp it would also be on the same side correct? since the right channel is now receiving signal from the left and sounds fine and the left channel is receiving signal from the right and now has the weird sound.

his must mean its the HU right? If so that sucks i need to get a new one already //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/frown.gif.a3531fa0534503350665a1e957861287.gif

im going to try the rear outputs on the deck and see if they sound good or not. i wil be back with an update in a few

the rear outputs sound fine.

Guess this units going back //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/frown.gif.a3531fa0534503350665a1e957861287.gif hopefully the replacement works better.

So one output is fuzzy and the other isn't? When you switch rca's on the amp the fuzzy side changes? I would try the known good rca on both sides of the amp just to completely rule out the amp. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

i swapped the left and right at the hu and the amp and both times it switches sides. i also switched from front outputs to rear outputs and the rears sound fine...
