looking at the pics again id definately say the metal has 'fatigued' the sub is designed to go back and forth, the metal should definately not fatigue under normal or even very heavy use. in comparison a car axel is designd to go round and round, imagine if wheels fell off all the time?

yea, i agree with that. Looks like the surround was too stiff for such a thin cone. I think they should replace it ... hopefully.

it wasnt really an spl set-up. But it did get purrty loud. Beat out 2 12 type r's in a toxic bass design. I dont understand how people say they throw 2500 watts at that thing i had a hifonics 1600 with the gain pretty much exactly half-way up With a stock electrical system.

why would you do that? Im sure a BTL would be a better HT woofer and my guess is its cheaper too

im loking for something that can play down to 10 hertz and loud.

i think the tc5400 will do the job with a pair of 1000 watt amps but i dunno if i should keep dumping money on this mission i got this is the third setup i have i might just stick with it.

it's a top assembly not a recone 4 bolt come out and the magnet and spider, coils, and cone seperate. Very cool feture http://tcsounds.com/tctop.htm#baskets
