2 Infinity Kappa Perfects 10.1:http://www.crutchfield.com/S-MPxmb84koD5/cgi-bin/ProdView.asp?g=520&I=108PER101

Profile AP 1000M Mono amp: http://www.crutchfield.com/S-4SHV5ulUJCE/cgi-bin/ProdView.asp?a=&s=0&cc=01&g=120&id=review&i=489AP1000M&pg=2

I'm confident that the subs will be what I need and they are on sell buy one get one free. I'm a little worried about the amp. I don't know alot about them but I've had two amps in the past: Sony and US Acoustics and these met my needs.

I just want some good clean bass in my mustang. SQ over SPL.

Any words of wisdom?

first word of wisdome, cut crutchfield off of your favorites

second, that amp is barely strong enough to power one of those subwoofers, if your on that tight of a budget, your better off with a power acoustic lt series amp that'll actually drive the power they need.

i'd advise browsing around on http://www.etronics.com or http://www.woofersect.com because crutchfield isn't even showing you the correct picture for that model of subwoofer, which makes me wonder if your buying the right product?

Hmmm.....crutchfield has always been good to me (maybe a tad high at times but good customer service makes up for it) but just in case, I just looked up the 10.1 on both of the sites you gave me and crutchfield is giving a better price. The specs and pics are the same for on each site. Maybe you are confusing the 10.1 with the 10VQ.

Also, the amp is a 500 watt at 2 ohm. This gives each of my subs 250 watts which isn't the best (they handle 350) but should still sound good given the infinity subs have a sensitivity of 94.

I'll check out the power acoustic lt series and see what I can find out. Thanks.

that sensitivity is at 2.83volts/1 meter, not 1watt/1meter, so the sensitivity is actually closer to 90db.

I'll pretend that I know what that means:)

90 is still pretty decent. I'm wanting to stay around $300 for subs and amp. Two Infinity perfects at $150 seems too good to pass up unless there is something I don't know (could be possible).

and thats why highschoolers run them all the time //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif your better off with a single sub setup that costs just as much, and gets louder, than 2 10s.

and your putting wayy to much trust in profile to put out the power it says its gonna put out, i doubt your speakers will ever see over 200 rms each, and thats on a good day....

Highschoolers? They run profiles? //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif Doesn't matter to me. Noone will even see my amp b/c of the way I'm building the box and installing the system in the back of the car.

But I am looking at something else: http://www.crutchfield.com/S-tvdex3LP5iI/cgi-bin/ProdView.asp?g=120&I=113KAC9102

Of course, I won't be buying from crutchfield b/c it would take all my money but I could possibly buy from ebay....maybe refurbished. This sub will deliver 425 RMS to each sub......is that better for you? //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

While I will easily concede that Profile is over-rated to a degree it isn't a huge degree. Profile is a really solid choice for entry-level on a tight budget. Add to that the fact that purchased through Crutchfield Profile gear is warrantied for three years it makes even better sense. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/fyi.gif.9f1f679348da7204ce960cfc74bca8e0.gif

buy a good enough product, and you don't need a warranty, i'm kicking myself over buying a warranty on my kickers and my power acoustic amp...didn't need either one of em...

Untrue...

Regardless of how 'good' your product might be, people make mistakes. Your errors could lead to malfunctioning equipment, which would be where the warrenty comes into play //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif
