Well its my first box and you can tell lol.

thanks. and yeah i wanna try some cool stuff like put some leds in the box and stuff. but yeah don't have the cash for that and my electrical is crap so lights won't help.
Oznium (google that) sells cathode kits which are very bright and more spread out than LEDs, but the LEDs are optimal in alot of locations to. and only have a draw on like .03 amps, so youd never ever notice the difference in running 0...or 300. Im not sure how much draw on their cathode kits, but I know that are next to nothing also. Oznium has alot of selection, excellent service and quick shipping, along with good pricing for quality products. I highly suggest them. They also have a forum you can as questions to other people who have alot of experence in lighting. Pretty good place to do business. Check them out for sure when you think your ready to add some. I have a little experence in it to, so pm me anytime if you have questions on it.

I would just do like bolt terminals vs the plastic ones, less cutting, just need a drill, stainless steal nuts, bolts, and washers good to go.

You'll have to demo it to me next time your in Rochester.

or u can come here and help me get the **** thing in my trunk lol. its gonna be tight.

Are you sure that 2x2 brace in the middle isn't gonna be in the way of the motor? The mounting depth available looks like its only about 6-6 1/2inches, and those have a depth of 8inches.
the 2 by 2 is 8 deep and 11 and 3/4 from the left of the box. so it should be fine. if not ill just take it out completely or move it. the box is already really solid.

i got some 3" hex head lag bots. and i think they will fit in the wholes but can i use these to mount my sub? theres that rubber surround and it will probably be on top of that rather than on the metal below. so will this still work?

ya id go with bolts for terminals or just drill a hole, run your speaker wire thro to the length youll need and caulk it in the hole. Terminals have there advantages but then you dont have to worry about a crappy connection there, or coming undone, or air leaking, etc.

Looks good man. Better than a lot of the other first time boxes I've seen.

Main thing is that it's air tight and sturdy.

The more you build, the better you'll get at it. You learn stupid **** not to do as you mess up. Gotta just go at it, and learn as you go.

As for speaker wire routing:

Leave enough in the box to be able to pull the sub out and sit it on top of the box.

I prefer to just drill a hole the same size as the speaker wire, run the wire through it, and then caulk around the hole/wire. It's the sturdiest and cheapest way to go.

Its awesome hearing that its a pretty decent box. I think I will try the bolt method. Everything is solid and I mad sure very noon and cranny is filled. On both walls. So that part should be good. If I build another box every I will def try to make my initial cuts straighter lol. But other than that I think everything is turning out good. Any recommendation on box carpet color? Other than charcoal or black? Ik darker colors are easier to hide seams with but im willing to try anything.

Yeah man, you'll learn that square strait cuts are really needed.

And if you keep building, you'll eventually start using a router and flush bit. Makes life super easy and box building really fast and precise. And round over bits make it look even better.

But the main thing, especially for your first box, is that it's built correctly. Doesn't have to be pretty.
