Weldwire vs. Powe Wire

Ive seen people say they've been using welding wire unstead of usual power wire for there runs. I was wondering whats the difference. I've heard that it doesnt bend to well and other things but I wanna know from actual people. I wanna know everything before I begin my upgrade. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif

'Welding wire' usually refers to the wire meant to be used on the stinger of the welder (the hand-held part). The wire has a high strand count because while welding, you dont want to have to be ******** around with bending wire around to move the stinger. Usually 'car audio' power cable has more strands and is abit more flexible, but Ive rarely found the need to more flexible wire than the welding cable Ive used.

i use welding cable and it's just as flexible as most any CA wire. i'll try to snap a pic to show how flexible it is
I got one boss! I didn't pull it real tight either though.

I went with 2/0 welding cable this time around too. But if I had it to do over again, Id go with multiple runs of 1/0 instead. Everybody makes terminals and distro blocks that accept up to 1/0, once you go to 2/0 or bigger than you have to start doing most everything custom with ring terminals. Not a huge deal, especially if its for a SPL rig that will be using buss-bar, but for the average guy's system Id try to stay with 1/0 or smaller.

Dan, is it just me or is your avatar moving faster than it use to? lol
