not sure if this is in the right category but here we go.

I have a shitty old isuzu i wanna weld a rollcage on to it.. nothing pro, just practice.

What do i need to do before i start welding on the chassis?

disconnect battery im assuming but what about the gas tank?

are you supposed to drain the gas tank every time you weld or is the spot your working on the only hot spot(electrically)?

current takes the shortest path so i don't see why it would fry anything so someone answer my question. Thanks

ah thank you. I thought so. What about the battery? I just wanted to weld a few plates in the back bed so i can later on add some tubing and build some sort of contraption... maybe instead of a roll cage ill build a catapult.

can you picture it?
