is welding cable a good power wire to use? and if so what size should i use, i guess whatever size is equal to 0awg power wire

It's great wire to use always OFC I went with #1 welding cable its pretty much between 0 and 1 gauge and it was rated for 350-400amps. I actually need to pick up about 10 more feet of it tomorrow if I can from the local airgas so I can move my 2nd battery to under the hood hopefully.

2/0 welding wire can usually be found much cheaper than audio 1/0. Works great for power/ground & Big 3 installs.

4 gauge would be enough for 1000w. 2/0 is overkill & headroom for most daily systems. It's perfect for the big 3, though.

Found a place today that sells 4/0 for $3 a foot. Feelin its time I redo my big 3, batt bank and runs from frint batt to bank
