weird sound

i have 2 phenix gold 6.5 speakers rsd speakers in the doors in my truck... some times ( done it 3 times now) i will just be driving listening to wat ever i pick up or a cd at about half volume and the drivers side just starts makeing this weird *** sound. kkinda sounds like if farting and it does it for a wile and then it will just stop. when its doing it if i put my hand on the cone it stops untill i take my hand off then it does it some more.... anyone no why?

Do you have crossovers

Are they amped?

no they arent amped yet and wat is a crossover ?? sorry im new to all this stuff

Id start off by checking all wire connections .. Amps, speakers,h/u ,etc .. Then if all is well then I would check out the amp/hu itself to see if their is something wrong with them .

ok ill do that i dont have the amp run to them yet but could that still affect them if i have a bad connection some where

Yea if a wire is loose or coming in contact with something it can cause it to make noise and what not . Check all of the wires behind the H/U for any possible issues and the speaker wire connection to your speakers .

yea i think i put a couple pieces of tape on it and it didnt do it on my way home so i think its good ... im gona tape it up realy good tomorow so hopefully it will stop wearing through thanxs for the help
