i was talking to a tech from kicker and he recommended that i shouldn't. he said you could if you were limited on space, but he was always told to use slotted if you can

not that i think you should use them or not, just wonderin why u can't use round ports for a solo x? and i do agree that u should use a wall of the enclosure for the port, it will deffinetly save you room and work...

Due to the necessary length of these ports, you may want to fold the port along the bottom and back walls. It will be impractical to use round ports for these designs.

i hear ya, but that all depends on the enclosure... for your enclosure slot is the way to go... that i do agree with. but its not that its not reccomended to use round ports with the solo x, its the typical enclosure they go into... i guess. that seems like a generalization on enclosures more than the sub itself.
