ok , so ive had my stuff installed for a week or two and ive been having this odd issue with my subs output. itll be bangin' (took my rearview mirror off today) then itll slowly get quieter and sometimes not play at all. the amp is on , and stays on, when it should be and the protection light has not lit up since ive owned the amp, nor has it been over-heated. i can turn on/off the head unit and it sometimes will come back on but not as loud as it should be. other times itll come back 100% and everything will be fine.

im pretty sure its not voltage drop. my lights arnt dimming and my voltmeter on the dash stays ~14v. i know its not entirly accurate but it should be somewhat.

i checked the sub with a dmm and it reads fine. so it must be the amp or electrical. i do not have my big 3 ran but voltage drop isnt the issue. i dont know what it is. im very //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/confused.gif.e820e0216602db4765798ac39d28caa9.gif .

up.

the only thing i can come up with is voltage drop. wouldnt the amp shut off from not getting enough juice? thats odd that it would get that quiet and seem like its not even there. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/frown.gif.a3531fa0534503350665a1e957861287.gif

im going to see about doing the batt to frame and batt to engine block ground later today and see if that helps.

i do have another , a x600.1 , but its in the gf's car.

its VERY odd concidering it sounds like it would be voltage drop but my lights dont dim much at all , it hasnt kicked into protect mode... //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/confused.gif.e820e0216602db4765798ac39d28caa9.gif

worst case - the amp is till under warranty but id like to know what the problem is. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/frown.gif.a3531fa0534503350665a1e957861287.gif

gotta be the amp, even if u were having voltage drops it wouldnt drop that low and get quieter all the time would just go into protect like u say....if its under warranty get it replaced or fixed...but still precaution sake, try the amp in the girlfriends car...

one more thing that crossed my mind, kinda a long shot but...if u have a HU with 4,5 etc rca outs on it maybe the sub out is losing voltage somehow and seeing how your gains wouldnt bet set that high ure getting the 'quiet treatment'...id replace the amp first and run it for a couple of days or so, depending on how frequent your problem is and see where ure at...

hm.

im going to check over a few things and make sure that there is nothing wrong on my part and that it is the amp itself before i contact sundown.

my HU has 2v preouts , iirc. would faulty rca jacks on the HU cause the amp to do this? it has been acting up so much latly that ive been using the remote only to avoid pushing any buttons on the face.
