waverunners/jet ski's

Ive had 4 or 5 SeaDoo's over the years.
2 '00 GTI

1 '01 GTX

2 '99 XP

My fav is obvously the XP, but they are single seaters and iffy with 2, but throw a quick trim setup on them and they are the most fun ever. As far as 3 seaters the GTX was the best I ever rode. Very stable and 130 hp would get you moving. I bet now they can be had still in great shape with low hours for $2500 or less.
i think those would be a lil too old. i need something newer than that.

Not really I had a old yamaha 97 GP1200 all souped up just got rid of it about a year an half ago. It was fast as hell. As long as you keep up with the maintance and don't dog them out too much they will last a while

A little to old?...Boats are like classic cars. Doesnt matter how old they are as long as they are taken care of.
ah i c

what do you mean "dog them out"

does that mean i cant gun it all the time? explain plz.

also, i like the way the newer models look. they appeal to me more, so thats another reason why i want a slightly newer one.

See even more people proving my point sea-doos are really the way to go, nothing against yamahas but there are some options on sea-doos that are just better.

The hull design

Impeller

CPU interface

Overall they are both very good makes but I have heard better with sea-doos and I love mine over my friends yamahas any day.

BTW Kawasaki only owns like 10% of the market now and yamaha/ sea-doo own like 85%, why do you think that is.

If you want a nice three seater that still gets up a GTX-4tec will be the best out there. the 02 and up models come with the 165hp motor and will do mid 60s with one or two people on them but go to the high 50s if you have three people.

also I knee-board, wakeboard, and slalom off of mine and it pulls me out of the water like nothing else.
nice!

one advantage with getting a kawasaki is that i could get a new one that is pretty fast that would be cheaper than its competitors cuz they dont own much of the marked.

however, would you still recommend a used seadoo over a new kawasaki? I know you've had good experiences wih the GTX, but wouldnt a used RXP model be even better?

i'm being pulled in like every direction here lol.

Reason i didnt buy a sea doo is because their reliability. Ive heard of many people having their doos in shop beaucse of some broken part or shit. Check out pwctoday.com. Its a great forum an plenty of info on which waverunner is right for you.

I went an bought an new 05 honda r12x last year an i couldnt be happier with it. Its not as fast as the RXP, but its reliable an fun as hell to ride. The 3 seater verxion(f12x) is a lil slower, but thats a given since its a bigger craft. Heres my setup.

the only issue that I have ever heard of with the GTX is caused by the driver. If you want a nice two seater I would say go with the RXP though. It can not comfortably fit a third though.

Its true your sea-doo will have problems and be in the shop, if you hit rocks or **** up a lot of sand. But if you can avoid that the things will last for ever. Everyone on my lake runs sea-doos and the only issues ever are from people running them up to the shore or hitting rocks when they go down the river. Again this is just going off of real life experience, not opinions from a web site. I have had mine since 02 and my rxp since last year and love em all and wouldnt trade from a kawasaki or yamaha but thats just me.

Nice Tige btw, is it a 20v?

Thanks man its a 21i, the seating arrangment was better for our family then a v-drive boat. But to the OP it comes down to maitnence, an goin in an gettin service done when needed. Take care of your shit an it'll last. Hopefully this summer my r12x will see the waves of socal.lol

I had a ski for a few years. The first two summers I used it, the next couple of summers my friends used it, the next few summers it sat and I sold it last year. I'd personally rather have a boat. Plus I had to change the motor cause the shaft busted and screwed everything up.

My personal opinion, if you don't have a boat, owning a ski will get old fast and maintenance is expensive. I paid more on maintenance than the ski itself. I think jet ski's are fun until you've had one a couple of years.

plz dont kill the anticipation for me.. is this the case for most people?

about ******* up sand, if i do get in some muddy water, aren't i supposed to rock it or something like that to try and get the sand out of the engine?

I think it is like just about everything. You will love it at first, but it will eventually get old. I got a boat and I wish I woulda got a jet ski.
anticipation is sometimes better than the real thing. when i first went out on a jet ski with my friend, the real thing was way better than the anticipation. one of the best days of my life
