waverunners/jet ski's

We'll be riding mostly in a river, but dont get me wrong, its got a lot of width and length. After we get out of a 8 min ride through the mangroves from his house, we get into wide open water with boats. Even though its a river, its more like a bay/ocean. There is waves, boats, and it is huge. The width of it is so wide that you cant see land on either side. There are all these little islands u can stop at and chill. There are also these narrow secret mangrove trails that we go exploring through, that cut through some of the islands. its really neat/fun.
ya i guess higher top speed is good too.
If you have around 9-10gs you couldnt go wrong with the big Yamaha or the big Honda three seater. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif

I used to have a Yamaha GP1200. It was a blast! Although I wish I could have a 3 seater now, just for a more comfortable and enjoyable ride. I sold mine since all my friends got rid of theirs. It is no fun to ride by yourself. So if your friends have some and plan on keepin'em get one. I hope you have as much fun as I did!
ya man. so do i. I went out with my friend the first day of summer of last year, and i had so much fun. We called up another bud who lived down the street and went out with him. I had to ride on the back of my friend's, even though he had 2, cuz his parents didnt have insurance on them or something, and plus his dad was't going to let me take one out right away. They ended up selling the slow one anyway. We had so much fun that we went out again the next day, and it wasn't as fun with just us 2 on 1 jet ski. When u got 2 people u can jump off each other's wakes and see how close u get to the other jet skier lol. I really hope my dad decides to get one. I would take it out all the time instead of wasting time on the computer or doing nothing at home. If i had my own jet ski, i would do my homework right away so that i could go out and ride. Fishing for snook and red fish is another one of my favorite things to do. I do that all summer long, and if i had a jet ski, i could use that to fish as well. I see people fishin from them quite often here in southern florida.

i'm not sure if he'd spend that much on it

why dont you make a title page, print this out and title it "daddy, why i want a jetski"

Then you may have to get something a little slower or a little older.
I personally would prefer slower over older since you can soup them up as you get money.
explain a lil. what kind of things can i do to make it better? and i guess this would take off the warranty too?

Well how fast would you say one of the $6-7k yamaha models are?

what kind of things do i need to know that makes a model fast? how much horsepower on a jet ski is fast? how many cc's should an engine have that makes it fast? how do i know if it will have good acceleration or not?

we talked about it over lunch today. i've broughten it up before. I forgot to mention how i can fish off it though. I'll have to slip that in to my next conversation.

vehicles like jetskis and atvs are measured in cc's..not horsepower. so if your talking to anyone, talk cc's. the horsepower can be measured when put on a dyno or something like that, but general coversation about them are in cc's.

your new to it, buy something in the 700-800cc range and youll have what you want. then when your ready for more, do some upgrades or save your money after your dad buys yours so in time you can see/trade it and have cash with it to buy a better one.

they are light with big motors. they haul ***. im sure whatever you get will fly..just start comparing brands to find one with the features you like

i was looking at the yamaha website, and on the specs on some of the jet skis, there is no gear ratio, but yet other models have the gear ratio listed.

how do gear ratio, and compression ratio come into play? and what other specs should i look into?

also, i think i want something fater than 600-800 ccs. I dont think i need to start out slow with jet ski's, because i have driven them frequently. If i was buying a motorcycle, then i would definitely start out slow. Remember, i also want to keep up to my friend. It wouldnt be cool if the whole time he had to wait for me and refrain from using his jet ski's maximum potential.

the seadoo RXP looks intense. i think it goes something like 0-50 mph in 2.9 seconds. that would be insnae. pricy tho..

man why does everything fun have to be pricy..

I have three sea-doos right now and love them. The bombardier sea-doos are unstopable and will walk a yamaha any day. My buddys got one and I ride the lakes and rivers with him all summer and he always has problems or runs out of gas first. Make sure to get a 4stroke btw.

I love my 1500s so I would recomend a gtx-4tec you could pick up like a 02-05 for a real reasonable price

heres my matching sea-doos with my boat

I know of a couple Yamahas I guarantee you wouldnt walk. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif

But nice Jet skis though. I personally wouldnt touch a rotax but there are a lot of people that love them.

truly orgasmic... lol.

i was doing some research, and a lot of sources say that yamaha is more reliable than sea doo. Have you had any problems with your Sea doos?

And ya, like 2008 models are way too pricy for my budget. Why do you recommend the Gtx? i noticed that it is in the "luxury" section. Wouldnt one from the "musclecraft" section be more fun/faster?

And what is the top speed of your sea-doos?
